That's why we have created this web-page as a convenient, comprehensive source of critical information that donors need to make informed giving decisions.
In short, we understand we need to earn your trust and investment in our mission.
Our Mission
JHCE’s mission is to support our founder’s unique lifestyle empowerment programs for people living with multiple sclerosis. We do this thru a permanent investment fund which provides strategic disbursements to Can Do MS.
Our Vision
The Jimmie Heuga Center Endowment was created in 1997 to serve as a permanent source of revenue for The Jimmie Heuga Center for Multiple Sclerosis, now called Can Do MS. Our vision is to provide annual underwriting for the lifestyle empowerment programs through investment proceeds. Our immediate goal is to obtain a million dollars in assets and begin annual distribution of earnings while we continue to grow the asset fund.
Our Values
Integrity: JHCE maintains the highest ethical standards and is fair, honest, and straightforward in all endeavors.
Quality: JHCE strives for quality, accuracy and timeliness in service to donors, volunteers and our mission.
Communications: JHCE encourages the free exchange of ideas and feedback in a timely, clear, concise, and mutually respectful manner among all
constituents, donors, volunteers and staff.
Teamwork: Success is a joint venture for JHCE staff and volunteers. The diverse talents of all individuals are used and respected.
Innovation: The key to JHCE’s success is the ability to be receptive to new ideas and methods of doing business. Our goal is to be the preferred choice for
donors who wish to support the legacy our founder, Jimmie Heuga, by keeping his lifestyle empowerment programs alive.
Internal and External Oversight
For our Board of Directors, good governance is more than just supporting the organization – it also means representing the community’s interests in what we do. The members of our Board of Directors have three fundamental legal obligations, or fiduciary duties, which apply to everything JHCE does:
